Updates on the Frisco’s Performing Arts Center

City officials of Frisco were able to meet and lay out the plans for the awaited Performing Arts Center that will cater to the students as well as the entire community but its seating capacity was discussed lengthily according to a Community Impact article from May 17 which reports,  “Frisco staff presented survey findings at a Frisco City Council work session May 17 that included cost estimates and a space analysis of the facility. Early agreements among Frisco ISD, the city of Frisco and Hall Park specified a $67 million performing arts center at Hall Park that would include a 1,250- to 1,500-seat performance hall and an additional community theater with a minimum of 250 seats. The school district designated $43 million for the project from a 2018 bond. The remaining funds would come in the form of $14 million from the city and $10 million from Hall Group founder Craig Hall. Online on air with Southwest Airlines

Soon, passengers of Southwest Airlines won’t have to worry about being disconnected mid-flight and they won’t worry about paying extra 8 dollars for it according to a Dallas Morning News article from May 4. They say,  “Dallas-based Southwest Airlines is testing new onboard Wi-Fi on 40 jets and will let passengers and employees use it for free while it experiments with the service. The Wi-Fi equipment will be tried out to “handle more simultaneous users, faster speeds and new capabilities” as carriers race for better internet access in the air after decades of lagging service. “This trial will allow customers to stream, browse and engage on the internet at no cost, just like other complimentary services,” said a message to Southwest employees from Tony Roach, vice president of customer experience. “Our goal is to evaluate how the new hardware improves performance while delivering a reliable internet experience used by a large volume of customers.” The upgrades doesn’t stop ther...

La Hacienda Ranch is back in Frisco

After a kitchen fire rendered the restaurant’s services unavailable, La Hacienda Ranch is finally back to serve Texans again and this time, according to Elizabeth Horton, with newer designs in the restaurant as reported in a Frisco Enterprise article from May 2. They say,  “On July 27, a small fire forced a closure of the restaurant, and the location closed for repairs, upgrades and remodeling. Changes include getting a brand new kitchen, new plumbing, air conditioning units and soda machines, Horton said.   “Most of the dining areas we kept traditional because we didn’t want (guests) to come in and be like ‘This doesn’t even feel like home,'” Horton said, “because a lot of people, they’ve been coming here since we opened, so 25-plus years.”  One of the location’s popular rooms, “Papa’s Room,” did get an upgrade after pipes burst in the area during a winter weather event. Frisco Company’s COVID-19 Breathalyzer

A Frisco startup managed to score support and authorization for Breathalyzer, a test that is three times more effective than a normal rapid antigen test according to a Bloomberg article from April 15. They say,  “A Covid-19 breathalyzer test with the ability to provide diagnostic results in three minutes has won emergency-use authorization from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the agency announced Thursday.  The test, made by Frisco, Texas-based InspectIR Systems , is authorized for those 18 and older and in settings where samples are both collected and analyzed, such as doctor’s offices, hospitals or mobile testing sites. Field West Project to take place in Frisco

Frisco will be the home for a new development called Field West which has an estimated budget of $2 billion according to a Dallas Morning News article from April 22 which reports,  “Plans for the new $2 billion Fields West mixed-use development will turn up the heat on Frisco’s building boom. The 180-acre project of Karahan Cos and Hunt Realty will include 325,000 square feet of retail, restaurant and entertainment space, 2,800 apartments, more than 4 million square feet of offices and three hotels. Frisco’s Complexity Gaming now with Lenovo

Lenovo Legion Esports Center which resides at The Star in Frisco has partnered with Complexity Gaming to help boost competitive gaming in Esports according to a BusinessWire article from March 28. They say,  “Complexity Gaming, a GameSquare Esports company and one of North America’s longest-standing esports organizations, announced a multi-year sponsorship agreement with Lenovo, making the company the exclusive desktop and laptop PC provider. Complexity’s Frisco-based headquarters will now be named the Lenovo Legion Esports Center, and the Lenovo logo will be featured on Complexity’s official jerseys. Over the coming years, Lenovo will support Complexity’s pursuit to enhance player performance and improve the industry standard for player care.
